As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of trying out some of their specialty dishes, and I must say, I was impressed. The Chicken Vindaloo, a spicy hot chicken dish cooked with potatoes, red chili paste, and vinegar, was a standout for me. The flavors were rich and authentic, leaving a lasting impression.

Aside from their meat dishes, Gandhi Indian Restaurant also caters to vegetarian and vegan customers with a wide variety of options. The Aloo Saag, a spinach and potato curry, and the Chana Masala, a garbanzo bean curry, were both flavorful and satisfying.

One of the highlights of dining at Gandhi Indian Restaurant is their freshly baked Indian bread, such as the Garlic Naan and Chili Naan, cooked in a clay oven to perfection. Pairing these bread with their flavorful curries is a match made in heaven.

The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, with friendly service that makes you feel right at home. Customers have praised the owner for his attentiveness and willingness to share the history of the restaurant, adding a personal touch to the dining experience.

Very friendly service! The chicken vindaloo is my favorite! The sauce bar is wonderful! If you like to add some additional flavor/heat to your meal, they have you covered with the option to add as much additional sauce as needed. One of my favorite places to get a delicious Indian style meal.

Friday early evening I struck gold ending up here on accident. I've been unable to find exceptional Indian cuisine in Portland. When I say this place is amazing it is an understatement. the curry is deep, complex, flavorful and lighter on cream. I find a lot of places use too much cream for my taste. Making curry that is so rich through building flavor is hard to come by. I like medium spice which was beyond perfect. The naan is made fresh in the clay over which is delicious as well. The owner was incredibly friendly and shared this history of the restaurant which opened up on Friday after closing during the height of the pandemic. They are back and planning to expand the menu. He also made me one of the most delicious mango lassis I've had. i can't say enough of how special this place is.

Stopped by for dinner 30 minutes before closing time. The owners were very courteous and thoughtful. Service was excellent. Food was quite good. It was fresh and tasted like home food- it was not oily or heavy like restaurant food can be sometimes. Restaurant was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. Even though it was a few minutes after their closing time, they waited for us to get into our Uber first and only then closed. Highly recommend!

Stopped here for a bite and it did not disappoint. I'm not an Indian food expert by any means but out of all the Indian food I've tried it was up there. We had the lamb vindaloo I believe it's called also the garlic naan. The chutneys they offered were tasty as well
